Dealing with adversity

Posted Friday, September 11, 2009 by Jeff Cronk
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. --Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968) American black leader.

I think this quote clearly defines where the Varsity team is right now.  Dealing with a 4-0 loss to any team is difficult.  How you respond to this situation will define your character as an athlete and a person.  A competitor looks back at there mistakes finds a way to mentally prepare for the next challenge.  An athlete will push themselves physically to make sure they are more conditioned than the competition.

I'm happy that we got to play West Babylon because this is the lesson that we needed to get ourselves in the right direction and is an 80 minute snapshot of what proper conditioning and commitment to excellence will get you.  I truly believe that our team is as talented, if not more talented, than our competition today.  We just need to put more effort in to every moment of everything that we do during practice make the step to the next level.  I look for to how you respond to this adversity.
